Folded Wings - Charles Arnett
With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Charles Arnett, pilot of the Arnett Crew 717 of the 492nd Bomb Group.
He passed away peacefully this morning, March 12, 2008, in his home in Chandler, Arizona, at the age of 88.
He was the driving force behind our building this website for the 492nd Bomb Group. He was a man of unblemished character who will be forever in our hearts.
Anyone who attended the 492nd reunion in Tucson in 2005 may remember our brother Mark's presentation of a clip from his still unfinished video "Baby Boomerang" in which he interviewed our dad regarding the 19 May 44 Mission 5 to Brunswick during which his crew was shot down.
We've added a link to this video on his bio page where you can watch it in a small 320x240 QuickTime format. It's particularly touching today.
