Lost: 7 Jul 44, w/Cary, mid-air collision with 42-51144, a pathfinder from the 389th BG, being used as a deputy lead for the 453rd. It had been hit by GAF and went flying out of control, head on into Cary. The only survivor from the two planes was Cary's navigator.
